SX132

Aligned with the “Road to 2030” strategy, Sanlorenzo aims to launch the first 50 Steel yachts equipped with a modular Reformer Fuel Cell system. This innovative system converts green methanol into hydrogen, generating electricity to power all onboard services and recharge batteries without the need to store hydrogen on board. By the end of the decade, Sanlorenzo plans to introduce the first superyacht fully powered by green methanol, responding to the marine industry’s growing demand for carbon-neutral energy solutions.

This ambitious goal hinges on ongoing investments in innovation, the adoption of advanced technologies, and strengthened partnerships with like-minded industry players focused on sustainability, such as Volvo Penta.

The collaboration between Sanlorenzo and Volvo Penta began with the SX88, the inaugural model in a series that would expand to include both smaller and larger versions. This partnership exemplifies a smart blend of classic motoryacht design—where Sanlorenzo has long been a key player—and cutting-edge technology, showcased by the installation of Volvo IPS1050 engines in the SX88.
