AMARA’s journey began at the prestigious Dutch shipyard of Feadship in 1986. Since her launch, she has undergone extensive refits, including a remarkable $20,000,000 transformation that commenced in 2016. This impressive overhaul led to her selection as a finalist in the esteemed Best Refit category at the World Superyacht Awards.
In 2021, under new ownership, our beloved yacht returned home to the Feadship yard for some serious pampering, worth a whopping $4,000,000! Picture this: a brand spanking new helipad that can happily host a twin-engine helicopter like the H135, fresh teak decking, a top-to-bottom engine overhaul, and a thorough Lloyd’s 35-year class survey. Now that’s what we call a royal treatment!
In her most recent refit, the bulwarks on the sun deck were removed to create a seamless, open-plan layout from the helipad aft, leading to a chic sit-up bar and a luxurious 12-person Jacuzzi. She boasts a vibrant and modern interior designed by the legendary Terence Disdale, offering accommodation for up to 10 guests. The spacious master suite, located on the main deck, spans the yacht’s impressive 9.5-meter beam and features walk-in wardrobes and an adjoining lounge. The lower deck hosts two double cabins and two convertible twin cabins, providing luxurious living spaces for all guests on board.
AMARA was meticulously built as a world cruiser, boasting a sturdy steel hull, a remarkable 5,600 nautical mile range, and the exceptional capability to accommodate a helicopter, allowing her to embark on thrilling voyages to destinations as distant as Alaska and Indonesia. With recent upgrades including zero-speed stabilisers, an expanded helipad, and state-of-the-art navigation systems, she now eagerly awaits a new owner to carry on her legacy of global exploration. Propelled by a pair of robust Deutz diesel engines, she effortlessly reaches a top speed of 16 knots, ensuring both power and efficiency on every journey.
