ROYAL HAKVOORT
A Triumph of Dutch Design and Construction
Launched by the Royal Hakvoort shipyard in 2008, the 45m AWATEA is a masterpiece of Dutch craftsmanship. Designed by Cor de Rover (exterior), Felix Buytendijk (interior), and Diana Yacht Design (naval architecture), this motoryacht is a timeless oceangoing marvel.
AWATEA’s powerful and dynamic look is highlighted by a sleek line stretching from stern to superstructure. Built with steel and aluminum, she boasts generous volumes of 499 GT, an 8.79m (29’) beam, and a 2.95m (9’) draft. Her profile, complemented by the striking “Peter Blue” custom hull color, makes her stand out on the water.
In 2019, a custom 7.5m (24’6”) carbon fiber tender was added, and last year, she underwent a multi-million-dollar refit, including her 15-year class surveys.
Swim Platform and Beach Club
Experience the ultimate in luxury with our versatile teak-finished garage. It transforms into a state-of-the-art gym and a chic beach club, complete with a hydraulic fold-down swim platform. Equipped with a powerful 2000 kg Cramm overhead gantry crane, it’s designed for both convenience and style.
Built to Cruise the World in Style
AWATEA’s decks are brilliantly designed for ocean living. The main deck aft invites you to lounge with generous seating around two large teak tables. An electrically operated sun awning extends 1.5m over the main deck aft, offering shade at the touch of a button. Double stairways lead down to the integrated swimming platform and beach club, complete with air conditioning and a full bathroom with a shower.
Up front, the foredeck observation area features a sofa and teak table, recessed behind a spacious sun pad for ultimate relaxation. The bridge deck offers an elegant conversation area aft and ‘al fresco’ dining for 10 guests, perfect for memorable meals under the open sky.
Elegance, Comfort, and Top-notch Workmanship
A standout feature is the sun deck, boasting a whirlpool, a spacious sun pad, and an impressive mahogany bar. Classic elements like teak cap rails and inlays in the superstructure, along with warm teak veneer finishes, lend a unique charm rarely found on yachts this size. The attention to detail and craftsmanship is exceptional. The entire deck, including the forward-facing dining area, can be sheltered by an awning.
Modern Classic with a Nautical Twist
AWATEA’s interior layout maximizes its 499 GT with smart, elegant, and efficient design. Despite being under 500 GT, most perceive her as larger. The nautical interior echoes a classic sailboat, featuring mahogany panels, exquisite joinery, and whitewashed coffered ceilings, complemented by fabrics in varying shades of blue and indigo. It’s fresh, sporty, and inviting.
Dining options cater to both warm and cool weather. The main deck offers formal dining for 10, separated from the main salon by a paneled partition. Dive into AWATEA’s timeless elegance and innovative design!

Main & Bridge Decks: Packed with entertainment options:

Perfect for blending business and leisure while cruising. The AV/IT system got a full, high-spec upgrade in 2019, including new cabling, and has seen further enhancements over the past two years.
Spacious Guest Accommodations
AWATEA comfortably hosts ten guests, with pullman berths available for extra guests in each cabin. The full-beam owner’s stateroom, boasting 2.30m ceilings, is accessed through a spacious private study. It includes a walk-in wardrobe and a luxurious bathroom featuring a whirlpool, stall shower, his-and-hers wash basins, infrared sauna, and a separate toilet.
Uncommonly large for a 45m yacht, the four guest staterooms on the lower deck can be configured as doubles or twins, thanks to beds that push together and movable nightstands. Additionally, there’s a dedicated space for storing suitcases beneath the guest lobby in her deep bilge.
Well-Built and Well-Maintained
AWATEA boasts a fully integrated bridge with five screens in the wheelhouse. The ship’s office is aft to port, and the double Captain’s cabin is further aft. She accommodates 9 crew members in 4 double cabins forward, each with upper and lower berths and ensuite bathrooms.
Equipped with Naiad zero-speed stabilizers, AWATEA cruises comfortably at 11.3 knots, reaching a max speed of 13 knots. Powered by twin 3508 Caterpillar engines, she offers a range of 4,600 nautical miles at cruising speed.
Although only used privately, AWATEA was built to Lloyds commercial classification standards and can easily meet MCA compliance for charter. Fresh from a multi-million-dollar refit with major system upgrades, she shows beautifully.
