Borkumriff IV embodies the allure of a classic schooner, guaranteed to quicken the pulse of any sailor. Crafted by the renowned Royal Huisman shipyard in the Netherlands, celebrated for its luxury sailing yachts, she was launched in 2002.
This remarkable vessel, measuring 50.6 meters in length (including her bowsprit), is reminiscent of the Newfoundland schooners that once hunted cod off North America. With a generous sail area of 1,164 square meters across her two masts, she promises exhilarating sailing experiences.
Commissioned by a seasoned owner, Borkumriff IV showcases the expertise of notable names in classic sailing. The elegant exterior lines are the creation of American designer John G. Alden, while her naval architecture is crafted by the acclaimed Dutch design house Dykstra, known for their award-winning modern replicas in the sailing superyacht realm.
Step inside, and you’ll find an interior designed by John Munford, featuring custom furniture and polished mahogany wood paneling that harmonizes beautifully with lighter ceilings and floors, ensuring a bright and inviting atmosphere.
The layout includes a spacious saloon and dining area on the main deck, with accommodations below. The full-beam master suite at the aft boasts a separate study, while two midship guest cabins ensure comfort for all. Each cabin is en suite, and the crew enjoys generous accommodations and a well-equipped galley.
Borkumriff IV also carries two tenders on her teak decks, along with two canons for marking the sunset flag-lowering ceremony.
