Story

Since her departure from Pendennis’ Falmouth facility in 2018, Catalina has embarked on a global adventure. The focus of her refit was the hydraulic system, with the skilled Pendennis team replacing over 350 hoses and every hydraulic component in the engine room. Enhancements also included a new teak deck, a full repaint, interior modifications with an upgraded saloon layout featuring a bar and new seating, and a bridge upgrade. Catalina showcased her prowess in the 2019 Antigua Superyacht Challenge, finishing as runner-up in the Buccaneers Class and clinching the Spirit of Tradition Trophy.

In 2024, Catalina returned to Falmouth for a winter refit, which involved a complete paint re-spray on both the hull and superstructure, a full overhaul of her main engine, and the installation of a new stern tube and propeller. Additionally, she received a new shore power unit, a complete AMS upgrade, and new running rigging along with corrosion treatment throughout the vessel.

In early 2025, Catalina made a pit stop at Pendennis Vilanova before heading to the Caribbean. Supported by a small team from Falmouth, she underwent aftersales work, utilizing the flexibility of our Spanish base. Following this, she crossed the Atlantic to compete in the Antigua Superyacht Challenge, with two members from Pendennis’ hydraulics and electrical teams onboard for technical race support.

While there is no overall winner of the regatta, Catalina was honored with the prestigious Gosnell Trophy, awarded to the yacht that exemplified the Spirit of the Regatta, as voted by fellow competitors and the race committee.
