CLASSIC SCHOONER BY FNM
The 59.47-metre sailing yacht Germania Nova is now available for sale.
Constructed by the Spanish yard Factoria Naval de Marin and designed by Max Oertz, Germania Nova was delivered in 2011 as a replica of the classic 1908 Germania. While they share identical hull lines, deck plans, and sail configurations, Germania Nova integrates modern features into her traditional structure. Unlike her predecessor, she comes equipped with an engine, cutting-edge navigational tools, a professional galley, and air-conditioning.
Accommodating up to 10 guests, Germania Nova offers five cabins, including a master suite and four doubles, each with en suite bathrooms. The interior is airy and inviting, with egg shell white walls and cabinetry complemented by rich mahogany accents.
On deck, her classic look belies a contemporary design. Of the 21 bronze drum winches, 15 are hydraulically operated, and the cleats and boom fittings are crafted from bead blasted stainless steel. The deck houses and skylights are made from teak-veneered aluminium to reduce weight while ensuring watertight integrity.
Technically, Germania Nova features eight sails made from Dacron, styled with leather reinforced corners to maintain their classic appeal. Hydraulic winches handle sail raising and trimming, while manual winches are reserved for lighter tasks like running backstays. Under power, a single 402hp Deutz diesel engine enables a cruising speed of 12 knots and a range of 2,000 nautical miles.
Germania Nova is listed at €4,950,000.
