LURSSEN
The 90.1-meter Lürssen superyacht Ice is now on the market.
Originally launched in 2005 as AIR, ICE won the prestigious Superyacht of the Year at the 2006 World Superyacht Awards. It was one of the pioneers to feature electrically-powered Azipod propellers, powered by diesel-electric generators. This innovative setup not only delivers a smooth, vibration-free experience but also significantly reduces emissions while cruising.
Designed by Tim Heywood, ICE boasts a minimalist interior crafted by Terence Disdale. Remarkably, many surfaces are made of limestone, with five bathtubs carved from massive blocks so heavy that the yacht was built around them.
The master suite is located on the main deck, along with two VIP or family cabins. Ice also features a unique design, with her superstructure positioned forward to accommodate a spacious helipad at the rear. The yacht can host up to 14 guests across seven staterooms, supported by a dedicated crew of 27.
For engineering enthusiasts, Ice is equipped with twin generator rooms housing 842kW MWM/Deutz gensets, separated by a convenient walk-through passageway. Lürssen’s commitment to minimizing emissions and vibrations is evident in her design and construction.
During sea trials, ICE achieved an impressive top speed of 18.5 knots. This 3,268 GT yacht has a cruising range of 5,000 nautical miles at a speed of 15 knots.
