M/Y Maverick belongs unambiguously to the second category, and the world has taken notice. The most awarded
Explorer Superyacht of her generation, with six trophies between 2024 and 2025 including the World Superyacht Award,
the Robb Report Best of the Best, and the Design & Innovation Award, Maverick is the purest expression of what Cantiere
delle Marche has spent two decades perfecting: the ability to go anywhere on earth, in comfort, in safety, and in style.
At 44.3 metres and 499 GT, she is the Hull #1 of the Flexplorer 146 Four Deck, commissioned in December 2020
by Tom Schröder, a man who believed so completely in what CdM could build that he subsequently became majority
shareholder of the Shipyard. That is not a footnote. It is the most honest endorsement a yacht builder can receive.
Maverick was designed around a lifetime project, not a brochure.
Her twin Caterpillar C32 ACERT engines deliver 970 kW each, giving her a top speed of 15.5 knots and a range of 6,800
nautical miles at 10 knots and a range of 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots, the kind of autonomy that makes a seven-year
circumnavigation not just possible, but comfortable. A 22mm ice-belt reinforcement above and below the waterline, with
an additional v e millimetres of material in the propellers, two pairs of zero-speed stabiliser n s, and a 90 kW electric bow
thruster, are only parts of a technical foundation that is built for real conditions rather than the catalogues of a boat show
stand. She has already sailed to the 84th Parallel through open icebergs, crossed the Atlantic, anchored in the bay of
Saint-Tropez, and sat in the port of Monaco during Grand Prix weekend. Not as exercises. As a way of life.
The exterior lines give Maverick the presence her ambitions demand.
Four decks, a crow’s nest, and 460 tons of displacement produce a silhouette that is unmistakably purposeful, powerful,
and considered in equal measure. Within that silhouette, Francesco Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini designed an
interior rooted in the Owner’s daily life, rather than in showroom convention. The main deck follows an asymmetric layout
with full beam to starboard, expanding the salon into a generous, light-filled space, while a discreet service corridor to
port allows the crew to connect galley to cockpit without ever crossing the guest areas. The galley opens directly onto
the salon and is centred on an island that becomes, depending on the hour, a breakfast bar, a prep counter, or the informal
gathering point of a family that genuinely lives aboard. The furniture, sourced from high-end European manufacturers,
anchors the space with warmth rather than formality.
Seven guest cabins are distributed across three decks; four ensuite cabins on the lower deck, the Owner’s stateroom
on the main deck forward, and a fully private Owner’s deck on the upper level with a walk-in wardrobe and a children’s
cabin easily convertible into an office, massage room, or whatever the next chapter of life requires. Below the main
deck, the space freed by the crane’s footprint becomes a gym, an extra crew cabin, a professional laundry with three
industrial washers and three dryers, and a dedicated diving equipment area. On the main deck aft, the pool is engineered
to disappear. When not in use, it folds flush beneath the teak and becomes invisible, seamlessly part of the deck. When
the yacht is underway and the pool is drained, that same volume becomes a practical storage space for the freestanding
outdoor furniture, keeping the deck clean and the pieces protected at sea.
This is what CdM-style exploration looks like: no compromises on range, safety, luxury, or on the quality of the life lived on
board. Maverick has already proven it. She is now ready to prove it again, with her next Owner.
