Resilience: A New Flagship for ISA Yachts
The 65.5-meter yacht, aptly named Resilience, stands as a testament to the skilled team behind ISA Yachts. Joining the market with Edmiston, BOAT revisits the 2022 yacht report, showcasing Erica Lay’s exclusive insights.
A Record-Breaking Launch
Resilience isn’t just the largest yacht launched by ISA Yachts since the Palumbo Group took over in 2016; it’s also the most exciting. With six decks, a 1,400GT volume, and a range of over 5,000 nautical miles, her modern interiors are crafted by Carlo Lionetti of Team for Design (Enrico Gobbi). Designed for world cruising, her immediate plans include the Mediterranean and Caribbean for private use and charter.
Luxurious Features
Resilience offers everything owners and charter guests desire, including an expansive beach club. This 180-square-meter area features a transom door that opens flush with the swim platform and two side doors, creating an impressive indoor-outdoor space.
Ingenious Engineering
“The aft door was complicated due to the very long platform,” says Lapenna. Every element on this yacht is custom-made, including the passerelle, which uses a complex mechanism to stay hidden and preserve the beach club’s 2.1-meter height.
Seamless Access
Access to the beach club is plentiful, with an external staircase from the aft deck, an internal staircase by the massage room, and a glass corridor through the engine room leading to four luxurious guest cabins.
Artistic Flourishes
A jellyfish sculpture by Preciosa adorns the spiral staircase, adding a unique, sea-themed touch. The shipyard overcame initial reluctance to install this monumental glass piece, achieving a flawless final result that dazzles at night.
Owner’s Cabin and Main Deck
The owner’s cabin spans the full 12-meter beam, featuring drop-down terraces and a custom-made crystal chandelier by Preciosa. The luxurious space includes Palissandro marble furniture with onyx tops and Esme table lamps from Heathfield & Co.
Spacious Saloon and Dining Area
The main saloon and dining room, featuring a 12-seater table and Minotti’s Freeman sofa, open to the outdoor swimming area. This design ensures excellent flow, perfect for charter use. A partition adds flexibility between the dining and lounge areas. The six-meter pool, equipped with a counter current, is surrounded by seating for sun worshippers and spectators.
Captain’s Delight
Captain Andrew Beattie enjoyed input on the wheelhouse and radio room design. “I positioned all the equipment where I felt best, and we removed unnecessary items,” he says. “I really like the wing stations; they allow us to see down the yacht’s sides when maneuvering, even with the terraces out.”
A Groundbreaking Build
Resilience, also known as the ISA Classic 65, marks a new era for the Ancona-based shipyard. Exciting times lie ahead for this remarkable vessel.
