Sanlorenzo’s Innovative 50-Metre Superyacht to Make Waves in 2024
Sanlorenzo’s latest masterpiece, the 50-metre superyacht from the Steel range, is set for delivery in summer 2024.
Eco-Friendly Advancements
The 50Steel will feature a methanol fuel cell system developed by Siemens Energy, which powers on-board services with engines and generators off, reducing the yacht’s eco-footprint by 90% while at anchor. Sanlorenzo CEO Massimo Perotti emphasized the importance of sustainable yachting: “We have to show the world there is a way to go yachting sustainably.”
Innovative Design
The yacht’s exterior is designed by Zuccon International Project, while Piero Lissoni crafted the interior concept. Notably, the 50Steel will boast the patented Hidden Engine Room (HER), freeing up more space for the owner and creating “volumes and heights never seen before,” according to Perotti.
Revolutionary Layout
A standout feature is the 120-square-metre Ocean Lounge beach club, complete with glass flooring and sea terraces on three sides. The yacht also includes a gym, spa, and a split-level main deck offering head heights from 2.1 to 3.3 meters.
Future Developments
Sanlorenzo aims to enhance fuel cell power output by 2026 and launch a fully fuel-cell powered, net-zero model in 2027.
