Commissioned by motor-car mogul Henry Ford II, the SANTA MARIA motor yacht was once the priciest Feadship around.
Designed by De Voogt, the 33m SANTA MARIA has kept her charm through consistent updates.
SANTA MARIA’s tale is legendary. In 1961, young designer Frits de Voogt flew to New York to meet Henry Ford II at his grand 5th Avenue apartment. Ford, impressed by Malcolm Forbes’ HIGHLANDER yacht, wanted his own Feadship. Two weeks later, the 32.9m SANTA MARIA was commissioned, marking a pivotal moment for the Dutch yard’s fame in American society.
Since her launch, SANTA MARIA has been meticulously maintained. Recent refits include new generators (2023), electric zero-speed stabilizers (2021), and main engines (2019). Vast sections of her steel hull plating were replaced in the last year, along with numerous other upgrades and maintenance to ensure she dazzles at every marina.
A proud member of the Feadship Heritage Fleet, SANTA MARIA today blends classic lines with modern prowess.
