ROYAL HUISMAN

SURAMA is an exceptional ketch-rigged sailing yacht, built by the esteemed Royal Huisman Shipyard in Holland and launched in 1997. With a design by Ted Hood, Surama is tailored for the discerning yachtsman, combining long-distance cruising capabilities with racing performance. Over the years, she has been extensively upgraded, including a significant refit in 2017.

This yacht boasts a spacious three-cabin layout, accommodating up to eight guests. The owner’s suite, located aft, features a private study and direct access to the cockpit. Two en suite guest cabins, each with an additional pullman berth, ensure comfort for all.

The contemporary interior, designed by Andrew Winch, showcases light, modern aesthetics with sweeping curves and bi-level sight lines. Neutral fabrics blend beautifully with light teak joinery, creating an inviting atmosphere.

The deck layout is thoughtfully designed for both guest enjoyment and efficient sail handling. A large main cockpit serves as a dining area, while a sunbathing space is conveniently located forward.

Surama is outfitted with OYS standing rigging and Rondal aluminium main and mizzen masts, complemented by carbon booms and in-boom furling. Her sail wardrobe, provided by Doyle Sails, is perfect for both blue water cruising and racing.

Embarkation is made effortless with a hydraulic folding passerelle and a side boarding ladder, while her tenders are easily deployed and recovered via a custom crane.

As a pedigree sailing yacht, Surama has been meticulously maintained and upgraded. Her double centerboard design grants access to shallow draft destinations and enhances her regatta performance.
