Motor Yacht VALERIA: A Timeless Classic Reimagined

Originally designed by De Vries Yachts, the 130-foot motor yacht VALERIA, initially known as “LAC II,” was built for an American client and boasted the distinction of being the first private yacht with an onboard helicopter.

In 2005, the current owner, a visionary engineer and perfectionist, embarked on an ambitious refit. What started as a renovation transformed into the creation of a modern motor yacht, while preserving the classic Feadship lines.

Highlights of this transformation include:

  • A modest transom extension, increasing the yacht’s length from 38 to 44.2 meters.
  • Full reconstruction of the flybridge and sun deck.
  • Renewal of all major machinery and technical systems, including new generators, main engines, rewiring to current electrical standards, a new underwater exhaust system, advanced air-conditioning, and Zero-Speed stabilizers.
  • Complete re-fairing and repainting from bare metal, plus brand new teak decking.

The interior has been exquisitely redesigned by Design Unlimited UK, ensuring a seamless blend of elegance and functionality. Laurent Giles Naval Architects and De Vooght Naval Architects have meticulously maintained the exterior’s harmony with the original design.

As expected from a rebuild of this caliber, the yacht features state-of-the-art navigation, communication, entertainment, and electronic systems, all integrated with precision. Oversight by De Voogt Naval Architects and approvals from Feadship and BV ensure the highest standards.

Upon completion, M/Y VALERIA will be MCA compliant, ready to accommodate 12 guests and 9 crew members, embodying the essence of a brand new Feadship with timeless classic lines.
